I recently started with C++ and i using Dev C++, but i think i will change to Visual Studio 2010.

It really depends on what you want to do.
If you want just to exercise Dev C++ is good.
But if you want to create scripts with user interface or dynamic function libraries (dll) or .so files. Then I suggest using Visual Studio.

VS2010 for Windows development, Eclipse for multi-platform development.

I like VS2010 but I take a lot of CPU compared to VS2008.

But. Now I'm working with it an any problem.
