So here are some bug reports for both 1.4 and 2.0 that i think you guys might have missed (not sure).
FO 1.4

With umm sourcebans 1.4, i am running MariaDB 5.5 on my apache server and so it gives me some kind of MySQL Header error... not sure what it is, but you should check it out

FO 2.0

I noticed that when i am installing sourcebans, it did not mention me to put the sourcebans entry in database.cfg. Not sure if this is not required in this version or you guys just forgot to add it in.

I'm using MariaDB too, but I don't have any errors. Whats the extact error?

Well i mean i recently switched boxes and already had pre-installed MariaDB. THEN i went about installing sourcebans 1.4 and well.... it wouldn't let me log in (some AJAX error) to errors when i was installing it in the mainpage related to some MySQL errors!

I am also getting the AJAX that Blackglide is likely receiving. I got it after upgrading the OS to Fedora 19, Apache to 2.4.6 and PHP to 5.5.3.

The error is:

Deprecated: mysql_connect(): The mysql extension is deprecated and will be removed in the future: use mysqli or PDO instead in /var/html/www/sourcebans/includes/adodb/drivers/adodb-mysql.inc.php on line 358

That is already fixed in the newest version.
Go to the init.php, search for mysql:// and change that to mysqli://
