I have actually gotten this to work on a Windows box before but I am trying to install it on a rented Linux box at the moment. I have tried everything I have read from here. That includes adding a /. to the GameBin path, making the file read only, etc. I have writting my server company about it and they said I might try doing something like exec addons/metamod/bin.server_i486.so and that did not work either.

I have tried running spawnhealth AND CSSDM with no luck in either case.

Can someone come up with anymore ideas? I have been trying for about six hours now

Try ldd server_i486.so. If it says that it can't find libstdc++.so.6 then you're going to have to wait until MetaMod 1.1 is released before it will work on your system.

is that a command that i enter into the console? or where do i enter it?

You'll need to use that command in an ssh session (remote shell console, not to be confused with RCON!), should you have access.
Login and at the prompt, cd to the location of server_i486.so then issue the command or should you already know the full path use:

cd /full/path/to/cstrike/addons/metamod/bin && ldd server_i486.so

changing "/full/path/to" to the correct path

If you don't have shell access, you could always ask the hosting company to issue the command for you, then give you the output.

If you have a hosting company, ask their technical support if they have libstdc++.so.6 or libstdc++.so.5. If the anser is .5 then you have to wait for the Metamod update.

my server company is about to upgrade their distros for linux this week. they have said they are looking to install Fedora Core 4 with ver 2.3.5. Will this suffice so I can finally get the DM plugin working?
