AGP cards are going obsolete already, I'd invest in a PCI-Express card if you can afford one. Although it does require a motherboard with pci-e slots.

I suggest you wait, and just suffer low quality, till you got the money at least

Yeah, because he obviously has extra resources (and as stated - money) to spare using a PC that predates PCIe running Vista. He wants to increase performance; not decrease.

I'm not sure I see your point anyway. Do you think Windows XP fails to work in January? Or do you think Windows Vista will become more widespread in less than a year?

I vote against using vista till after one year of official release to the public. Only for security reasons.

I honestly could care less about vista at the moment.

I use a Nvidia Geforce FX 5500 AGP 256 MB, perfect graphics card (well for me) runs source, medieval 2 pretty good but BF2 is only O.K.

im just saying it will be better.. trust me dealers won't sell pcs with xp anymore + if u get a PCIe card and run it on vista u will be able to play like every single game cuz u know it will include directX 10, so wait for a bit after jan when vista will be released v-cards companies will start releasin the cards that run with only directX 10 or higher they will be sick..

So you want him to get a new operating system, motherboard and graphics card, when he has already stated he can't afford a new motherboard - and doesn't want to wait either for that matter? I can see why you were banned. DX10 cards were released in November of this year.

I do trust you, because you obviously seem to have extensive experience with these matters and have probably used Vista for months like I have. Having said that, I still haven't decided whether to purchase XP or Vista in the coming weeks. Application (in)compatability is a pain.
