Hello, I know all threads about servers rates and i made this thread to ask if i can fix rates without slow-hacking..
If i set
sv_minrate 25000
sv_maxrate 25000
sv_minupdaterate 101
sv_maxupdaterate 101
This will make all client rates to: ?
cl_cmdrate 101
cl_updaterate 101
rate 25000
ex_interp 0.01
If i make servers rates like i wrote before, Client rates will be like there for server whatever they put it !?
I know that there rates values won't be changed, But i mean will be same for server !?
Sorry if it's idiot question but i really need answer.
Also, If i put min rates to lowest and max rates to highest ( Then they will be good for all servers and all players ? ) or i'll have laggy bad rates server !? Like:
sv_minrate 0
sv_maxrate 100000
sv_minupdaterate 4
sv_maxupdaterate 333

The only rates you can enforce from the server are the once I've quoted here (rate and updaterate). You typically don't want to allow rates that are too low because that could give players with low rates an advantage. You would set a maximum based on your server capabilities (if you rent from a GSP you will probably be able to simple set your maximums to the max value: 101 for update rate and 100000 for rate).

The client needs to choose a rate that is as high as possible but if their computer or internet connection is not good enough, they might need to have lower rates. This is why you don't force everybody to the maximum values.

My server is set to 50000 to 100000 and 50 to 101 respectively.

If the client has his rates outside of the range the server allows, his rates are temporarily set to either the Min or Max, depending on whatever is closer. So if sv_minrate and sv_maxrate are set to 25000, EVERY client will use "rate 25000" regardless what they have their config set for (including people who do not have the hardware/connection to support that rate)

It's not possible to have a value of zero for ex_interp. FYI.
