hi everybody

i have the same problem with motd, no matter if contains html code or just an iframe with external reference.
i am running linux with metamod 1.17.1 (of course), amxx 0.16, cheating-death 4.21.0, hlguard 1.60beta. phpua 1.1.0b, webmod 0.47.
i've switched back to amx and motd shows up right.
i've switched again to amxx but motd looks again white background with some weird symbols.

disable the welcomemsg.amx in your plugins.ini,
then your standard motd is displayed correct.

Steam has had a million problems with MOTD's, I still have the problem where it won't scroll; I've changed Scrollable or Scroll to "yes" and "no" but it hasn't had any effect.

That white background thing is a steam issue. It is not a server-side problem. I've seen a million of threads on www.steampowered.com. Search "white background" in the forums and I am sure that there is a solution listed there.
