try to set duration to 0.0 instead removing
PHP Code:
int effect GetEntPropEnt(entityProp_Data"m_hEffectEntity");
SetEntPropFloat(effectProp_Data"m_flLifetime"0.0);

Try using the IgniteEntity command again except with a 0.0 or 0.1 time on it. This may reset the current fire's timer and end its life.

how are u igniting the fire? if using env_fire entity u can kill the entity after a period of time using addoutput or outright killing the entity itself if not reusing it. if your using igniteentity then Extinguish entity should be working....i made a plugin for l4d2 that sets players on fire when touching fire...ignite entity doesnt work on survivors so i had to use a particle instead...show some code and you're more likely to get help.
