Hello,

I'm testing firewall settings on my Linux Ubuntu Server.

When i open port 27005-27015 i can see the server is online but Insecure (VAC) + Connecting to public(Server IP:27015) ...
Server using 'public' lobbies, requiring pw no, lobby id ffffffffffffffff

What port does Steam use for that? On this page ( https://developer.valvesoftware.com/...Query_Protocol ) it say:

hl2master.steampowered.com:27011 (numeric IP may change)
This domain name points to 3 A records (IPs), one of them using a different port (27015) according to the MasterServer2.vdf. - Two of theese Ips i did a ping scan on is whitelisted on my firewall.

On server console it say:
Initializing Steam libraries for secure Internet server
Logging into Steam gameserver account with logon token '4F29CC79xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx'
Could not establish connection to Steam servers.


Any idea?

maybe you have a wrong plugin that not allowed by Valve and your token is banned?
Try to create an new token.

Token is not banned. Just checked. I found out Valve use port UDP 26901 to check GLST

Information about GLST (Game Server Login Token).

If you get the error "Could not establish connection to Steam servers."

Open UDP port 26901 - If you have more than one server you just take UDP Port 26901-26915 (eg if you have 14 servers). And remember to open port 27015 + server port (unless you use 27015).

On a side note, you can change which outgoing port servers use to talk to Steam by using the -sport command line switch.

Be aware that on older games (Team Fortress 2 and older), the game adds 1 to the port you specify. 26900 is the default, but those games use port 26901 as in Nexicon's example.
