Ditto on that. Running snapshot 0.9.0+d5d0838 on Linux with the same issue as of last server update.

Use this instead.

And you don't need SteamTools, you need SteamWorks.

I've read the release notes on both extensions and they seem to do the same thing.

What is the main difference between the two of them? And when should I use one or another?

Thanks!

The SteamTools extension is built against OpenSteamWorks

The SteamWorks extension is built against Valve's SteamWorks SDK (and includes some of the redistributable files from version 1.28).

More importantly, though... SteamTools is only guaranteed to work on Team Fortress 2, while SteamWorks should work on any Valve game.

I still reccomend the SteamWorks plugin instead because it has more game supprt, and more plugins are switching over to it. The only reason, now, I use SteamTools for Steam Group Admins, but I'll get it compiled agaisnt SteamWorks, and finally get rid of SteamTools.

Getting back on the original threadline: Isn't SteamTools "lighter"?

I mean, I only need the Master Server restart request, the steam server network events (connected(), disconnected(), etc.) and HTTP support. As far as I've read from SteamWorks, it has a lot more functionality that I won't use anytime soon.

Is it still worthed to switch over to it?

More plugins are starting use SteamWorks since it supports more games just than TF2. You can still use SteamTools. But I have a better experience on my own TF2 server with SteamWorks.

Well, I ended up switching to SteamWorks yesterday. Had a bit of a tough time figuring out the HTTP request functionality due to the lack of documentation but I got it to work in the end.

Thanks for the help!
