So, there is an open-source alternative to the default engine that has increased limits such as the precache limit, which is currently 512. I want to know, is it possible to replace the engine of the Steam version of the game, and if i do so, will my Steam account be banned, or doin so is allowed by Valve?

I know how to run hl1 under that engine, but i don't know how to run cs16.

So, can someone tell me if it's legal and if it's legal, how to run cs16 under that engine?
