This is only happening when you try to access the ban list all other features load and work good.

To be more specific (I'm part of the same community, in addition to other communities), it seems there is a problem with one of the SB queries for loading the ban list page. It will occasionally time out, and when it doesnt, it takes 2-3 minutes to load the page. Users have reported error messages such as "No available socket" and...

Code:
Error: the XML response that was returned from the server is invalid. Received:
Warning: mysqli_real_connect(): (HY000/2002): Resource temporarily unavailable in /usr/www/wcc/public/sbadmin/includes/adodb/drivers/adodb-mysqli.inc.php on line 113

Fatal error: mysqli error: [2002: Resource temporarily unavailable] in CONNECT(localhost, '****', '****', wcc_sbadmin) in /usr/www/wcc/public/sbadmin/includes/adodb/adodb-errorhandler.inc.php on line 77
You have whitespace in your response.
Contacting our host (NFO), they said they've had several reports scattered among users, all regarding sourcebans, and not other databases. Since no other users and the same machines report problems, they assume it is an undocumented SB bug.

We originally ran into the problem using SB 1.4.10. Then, I upgraded their site to 1.4.11. Still, problem exists. I'm wondering if the database might have issues, and if exporting the bans, then importing to a new DB would fix it, but since there is no phpMyAdmin for their website, and NFO's CP doesnt have options to export databases or other useful queries, I'm unsure what to do. We have 6000 bans, so I dont want to start fresh.

Other info: Only the ban list lags. Other SB pages load fine. The query still lags everything, even if you exit the page, and try to load a non-banlist page...it will still hang up as it processes the banlist query. Since multiple installs/version have been tried, I would think it is either the host or the DB, but I'm really not sure.

Checking the latency via Chrome "F12", it says that most of the delay is on the main index php page when it is passed the banlist variable (duh), but it often shows latency to the ajax calls.
  • In our attempts, we have unrestricted the memory limit for SB (or rather allowed it to define it as
    Code:
    define('SB_MEM', '200M');
    ).
  • Tried other version and fresh installs.
  • Tried a fresh database on a fresh install - which worked smoothly. Upon using the same install on an the existing DB, it has the same problem - leading me to think that either the query only shows its errors on larger databases, or that the DB itself has issues (but remember, NFO said that they've seen this exact case several times).
  • Tried other random stuff, but cant remember what...

Anyways, my fear is that they need to start fresh. I still would like to try exporting data, then importing to a new DB, but they dont have avenues for that right now. Perhaps if NFO is asked to export the DB? But if that doesnt work, and if no one here has found this issue and resolved it, then I fear they may need to start fresh and lose 6000+ bans.

Hello,
I am running into the exact same issues as you described. Which MySQL-Server version is your host running?

It is really troubeling how much the banlist slows down the sourcebans site, I was testing it inside a VM with MySQL-Server version 5.5 on a debian system and the banlist loaded in an instant. So my guess it has something to do with the upgraded server version of 5.6.

NFO does offer phpmyadmin. Navigate to your website on the NFO control panel. Go to auto installers and install phpmyadmin. Then simply navigate http://yourdomainname.com/phpmyadmin

Log in with the credentials found on the database tab (NFO Control Panel)

Yea, I just need to check with the owner of the site before doing that.

I'll look into that for them. Thanks!

Hi there you can use my website hosting company for your sourcebans, I'm 100% positive it'll load extremely fast and you won't have any issues.

Company - https://CainHosting.com

We allow all ports to be used for game servers connecting to our web servers. We're also permanently DDoS mitigated.

We're on the whitelist for HLStatsX, however we're not on the whitelist for sourcemod since the moderator tcviper has never responded to my messages.

Sourcemod Whitelist: https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=196746
HLStatsX Whitelist: https://forums.alliedmods.net/showpo...98&postcount=7

Here's a few large clans who host their websites and sourcebans with us.

http://bans.degree-gaming.com/
http://bans.elite-hunterz.info/
http://bans.wydgaming.com/
http://fsas.info/forum/fsasban/1/

As you can tell our web servers are extremely fast, and we will help you in every way with your sourcebans issues.

You can purchase website hosting from us, and we can migrate your sourcebans & website over almost instantly. We have moved quite a few NFO web hosting customers over, their databases & web server setups are a bit dated...to say the least.

Our web hosting packages: https://cainhosting.com/webhosting.php

For anyone with this problem in the future, the issue was that some later versions of mysql conflict with one of sourcebans queries. We downgraded from 5.6.22 to 5.5.something and it all works perfect again.
