I've 'created' my own server, downloading SRCDS and setting it up by the guide provided by allied modders, but now I can't seem to connect to it?

I've tried using the Public IP listed at the bottom and the default port number which I've made sure is the one I'm using.

Is there something I still need to do after the steps in the tutorial?https://wiki.alliedmods.net/Setting_...erver_(Windows)

Are you running the server on your local pc?
If so try to connect using your local IP.

1. Did you make changes to your Router to support your dedicated server?
1a. Port Forward 27015 (TCP/UDP) to the local IP address of your server.
1b. Port Forward 27005 (TCP/UDP) to the local IP address of your server.

2. You can try making a new shortcut on your client machine that will help you connect directly to your dedicated server.
2a. Type 'status' in your dedicated server console on the server computer. It will give you the local IP address and the public IP address of the server.
2b. Create new destop web shortcut on your client computer that connects using the local IP address of your server. It will look something like this for the url: steam://connect/192.168.1.22:27015
2c. Double-Click on your new desktop shortcut when you want to connect to your server.

I hope this helps...

Yeah, I'm running it on my PC, I'll give the local IP a try first

As for the port forwarding... Uhhh I'm not sure what that is? It wasn't mentioned in the guide. I definitely didn't make any changes to the router for it though.

Well, I tried the Local IP provided by the command and it worked! I was able to test it completely fine.

I have however determined that no one else can connect to the server. I assume this is due to that, 'port-forwarding' thing with the router? If anybody knows some good resources to point me in the right direction please let me know.

Access to your router will depend on your manufacturer. But the basic steps will be something like this:

1. Open up your favorite web browser
2. In the search bar of your browser type: 192.168.1.1
3. That should connect to your router. Login to your router using your router username and password. If you don't know what it is try using a username and password of: admin
4. Once logged on to your router go to port forwarding section. It may be listed under NAT/QOS.
5. Port Forward 27015 TCP and UDP (Both) to the local IP address of your server.
6. Port Forward 27005 TCP and UDP (Both) to the local IP address of your server.

See attached picture for an example of port forwarding screen.
