How to do this plugin

Im really new to sourcemod development, but i dont know where to start, so please be gentle.
What i want to do basically its to make a server plugin for half life 2 that check if you have an apllication opened (on client side) when you want to connect to server.
I know that maybe im diging too deep for my actual knowledge, but at least a few advises where to start would be very appreciated.

And start looking at simple plugins,
Maybe the SourceMod plugins, they are pretty easy to ready from..

Sorry, SourceMod doesn't have a CheckIfClientIsRunningApplication() function. No matter what language you do this in, you're going to face the same problem: unless you want to hack HL2 client-side, you have to go through an external layer (such as sockets).

Hm.. Garry's mod LUA has clint/server side scripts
But GMod is another story...

And to come to think of it, can't you do a program like the old Cheating-Death. It is a good suggestion for people that are making those highly-modified mods or they want to save bandwidth..

wow, that is a informative page there Nican, good work man. I have to save it to faves for easy access. this should be attached to the Wiki maybe..
