I was working on a stats system for my Team Fortress 2 servers last night and noticed how easily I could track my own achievements. It'd be pretty easy to write some code to track special events, such as 5 kills in 10 seconds or something. This would just be some additional fun, since the achievement would never be registered in Steam.
Detecting an achievement is no problem, but I'd also need a way to display this ingame. I am wondering if it'd be possible to write a plugin which plays the achievement animation + sound for a specific player. I figure the sound is not much of a problem, but I have no clue how I could play the animation or whether this is even possible.
Could anyone give me some pointers on where to look for this?
