Are the updates in the 1.2x thread? or How do you release them? The link with KAC-Open-Beta is that current or what?

until now, KAC hasn't been updated to 1.2.1.1 ... but when this happens you'll find all updated files within the normal 1.2.0 bunch: http://www.kigenac.com/KACSM/BETA/KAC_1.2.0_Beta.zip

Update notices are posted in the Update Notification thread. The updates themselves are automatic once you've installed KAC onto your server. KAC has a auto-update feature so that server admins don't have to constantly track what is going on.

Maybe you could just release a version and call it "stable release", and update it?
