I just wondering if exist a plugin or something to download a map resources,without editing or making a res file.

I'm making a plugin which control the map resources, inform if any resources are missing, prevent crash, and can change map if so, also can make .res automatically. You may be interested ? It's basically the same as you ask, it avoids you to make the .res. Or you want a command to download a map + resources automatically from a site ?

Ok, wait a bit, it's not finished. Retrieving resources from .bsp/.wad, it's done, but I need to check things in the engine about preventing such crash.

Why not just do it correctly the first time? You should always test a map when you first put it on the server (make sure the .res is correct).

It's a gain of time. What you say is true, but you will get always unexpected situations. The plugin is more to prevent crash and inform clearly the admins. Generating a .res is just a small feature.

Heh I had same idea, doing a wad downloader, because some maps are bugged and doesn't precache wad files.

But I was too busy to make it :p
