Hey there, thanks for the response. However, I had a few errors and have to edit this post a few times, but this is where I'm at right now. I was able to log most of the console, but this is what happens when I ran it.

Any version with player slot lower than 32/16? Just encount the old entity limit crash on custom map, using the 16 slot version do solve the problem on some map with lot of entity....

That doesn't work the last time I tested it. The only way I could make it work as with a recompile with 18 as max slot. To this date it crashes if you switch from 32 to a lower number.

It works just fine for me, maxplayers stays at 18. Stopped those crashes you would get in first map of Passing.

Huh? I don't think we are talking about the same thing. The crashes I'm talking about happen due to edict limit being breached which is not the case for Passing. In fact the fix was compiled for custom maps that are not as optimized as stock maps.

Passing can crash with edict issue when the map restarts. Anyway, those campaigns you mentioned never had issues for me with l4dtoolz.

Servers running too many plugins that precaches and spawn a lot of entities can crash by edict limit easily. (c1m3 is the vanilla map most common to happen)

I had the same issue as you Spirit, is not related to L4DToolZ, and, as AFAIK, there is no way to change the engine to bypass this value.

The solution was removing through stripper, some prop_physics from the map, that are mostly used for decoration, like cups, etc. still is not 100% but reduce the crashes

Other solution would be disabling some plugins that precache entities on these maps (Random Models, LMC, Hats, Charms, Flashlight)

I attached a stripper related to these maps, that I used to use to reduce the crashes, then you can take it as an example if works, btw if you want help on this I suggest creating a new topic, since this is not related to the L4DToolZ thread.

Actually it is related to L4DToolz. I run extended slots and the one version that I tagged is the only way things work for me. If a map is really overloaded then I just decompile the map and compile it with optimizations.
