Are you asking why we included the version number?

If so, then there's two reasons: 1). If a buggy/problematic release happens to occur, then any unreliable bans incurred from the release will be easier to spot and remove. 2). Most individuals fail to provide the version # when reporting issues. Unfortunately, when we don't know the version responsible, then it can be difficult for us to track down the problem.

I downlaoded smac_cvar from above and a friend tested it with "r_drawothermodels" value 2

Whats happen ? Nothing, no ban no kick.
Via console i added the cvar again:
smac_addcvar r_drawothermodels equal ban 1

... without result, r_drawothermodels on "2" and no ban!

SMAC-Log is clean
