are you sure you have "a quick patch to the core DLL (amxmodx_mm)" installed?

You dont place any modules other then amxmodx_mm.dll inside of the metamod plugins.ini

All AMX MOD X Modules are ran thru the AMX MOD X modules.ini located in the configs directory.

I dunno if thats your problem, but to me it looks like your trying to load both modules at the same time via modules.ini and metamod plugins.ini .. Only use the modules.ini

Thats just the way metamod 1.17.4p20 does it.

No i´m not, i have only placed amxmodx_mm.dll inside of the metamod plugins.ini.

Sry if i´m not understanding you Mborman, but if what you are trying to ask me is, if i downloaded the patch? The answer is no, i downloaded the entire full install after it was updated to v1.01, and as far as i can tell from what BAILOPAN wrote that´s also ok

everytime i try to run the installer i get an error

a run-time '5' error;
Invalid procedure call or argument

Just download the zip files and install manually then.
