You would need to change them to

client_print(<first arg of show_hudmessage>, print_chat, <the rest of show_hudmessage>)

Usually the "y" will show up when you are running a mod that does not support colored menus. However, this plugin checks for that so it shouldn't be doing it. What mod are you using?

I don't know about the "m".
