If the speed is set in the engine server-side, it's possible to change it. Though last time I've searched, I've failed to find it. But I think it's defined client-side because the server sends to client a list of files to download and it exists an engine message (SVC_RESOURCELOCATION) to send to the client the sv_downloadurl value. So I would guess speed is defined on the client and you can't do nothing if so.

so if its client sided only, a simple speedhack would increase the download speed right.

I will try to apply a speedhack both client and/or server side and post the results

Speedhack ? For me a speedhack increases the player's speed (moving faster). How it's related to download speed ?

I didnt mean a "player speed increasing speedhack", just some kind of stupid hack which can target any .exe

Anyway, I tried it, and it didnt have any effect on the download speed..
The only noticable was the download timer going up, as 1 second for the game would be ~1/10th of a second with the speedhack.

So it was fail, still cant figure out whevener its client or server sided.



Anyway, I've been looking around with OllyDBG on the server for anything related to the resource downloading, I havent found anything of use.
~an hour of debugging later, i found some point of interest in swds.dll with OllyDBG, I got the code that sends the file, but i cant seem to figure out how it works, nor how to remove the limit.
If anyone's interested, breakpoint adress 049CF8F8 in swds.

I have 1error when running this https://forums.alliedmods.net/showpo...&postcount=295 - [ORPHEU] Function "Con_Printf" not found - although orpheu is the latest, installed and running without any problems..

Are you sure the signature file is well put at the right place?
Do you use the hlbeta update?
