You didn't answer my question..

FireFTP's list of features is tiny - which isn't a problem if that's what you want.

SmartFTP's interface is amazing. Tabs are essential if you regularly connect to more than one server - and very useful even if you don't. I couldn't see myself using any other client. In fact, I think I think I'll license my copy right now.

I absolutely agree... SmartFTP has a way of not letting someone change clients once you start using it. Just can't use another program.

But I can't say I'd be willing to pay for it...

SmartFTP is gay... It only does anonymous connections, and not SSL implicit, and explicit Secured connections.
