Not everybody is willing and/or able to test and debug beta/dev versions of software. The fact that it changes so often is a challenge in and of itself. Bugs can easily be introduced in rapid development. You would need to be willing to update your server's AMX Mod X installation very often at the risk of getting a critical bug introduced in the latest dev version.

People still using v1.8.1, we cannot say that it's old, because it was an important update. (as changelog said)

1.8.1 is old since 1.8.2 exists and is an official release.

Because the compiler hasn't changed between 1.8.1 and 1.8.2, as far as I know. 1.8.3 has some new features and bug fixes.

On 1.8.2 i had several issues while on 1.8.3 everything is running fine for me now, and if something won't the devs are usually fixing it in a matter of days..

People are getting scared of the dev build because of the status tags, thinking that it is not a stable/functional version, when in fact it is

You guys keep forgetting that this is not a software developer company which is making profit of the product and can afford professional testing, we need people to use it in order to make sure it is stable

In conclusion the options are

1.8.2

- Several issues you will not get support with
- Stable state tag

1.8.3

- No unsolved reported issues at the moment, many improvements
- In case of an issue, the developers are gonna fix it in a matter of days
- Dev state tag
1.8.2 still has support. Because it's the stable release. I'm sure if any major or security issue is found, it will be fixed.

Exactly this. The OP is definitely one of those guys and it's ok. What's the problem with that?
