https://builds.alliedmods.net/amxx/waterfall

1) Why new dev builds every 3 days(ex.)
2) Is AmxX Dev's going to post an official full installer of AMX Mod X 1.8.3?
3) I've been updating the complier(files) and I cannot come up with a result finding the difference between them. Do any of you know?

AMXX 1.8.3 is still in development state. If you don't wanna update your files/compiler every time, you should use AMXX 1.8.2 or wait until 1.8.3 is released as stable.

1) There is a new build each time a modification is pushed on the GitHub repository.
2) There is a high chance installer to be updated before the official release.
3) I will post soon a changelog (draft) on the wiki. If you want specifically compiler changes, you can search for Pull Request related to "compiler".

Include files will change when a new release is published(i think so), @Arkshine, hope it won't take long for the full installer. Saw other members builds too, interesting stuff going on here.

You don't need installer if you want to test a fresh installation you can just download the current dev version here: http://www.amxmodx.org/snapshots.php

That is because the dev version gets updated frequently, it is advised to update it every couple weeks

If you're too lazy to update it, there shouldn't be a big deal, the dev version is pretty stable, in case you encounter any problem with it, just update it to the latest version and if the issue is still present then just report it on the forums and it will be fixed in a matter of days

@Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel

I think you guys should stop advising people to use 1.8.2 over 1.8.3, IMHO 1.8.3 should be more stable considering the bug fixes, and in case there is a problem it will get fixed in a matter of days ( all the problems i had were solved quickly )

Also this way we will have the 1.8.3 final version sooner...

I can also confirm that 1.8.3 is very stable. Running Sven Co-op and Counter-Strike servers with it.

You should read the differences between dev & stable states of a software and how a dev version should be tested.

I do know the difference, but i'm not talking here about the status tag, i'm talking about the stability of the software from my experience with both of them

What bothers me is that you guys keep recommending one version without trying the other

On 1.8.2 i had several issues while on 1.8.3 everything is running fine for me now, and if something won't the devs are usually fixing it in a matter of days..

People are getting scared of the dev build because of the status tags, thinking that it is not a stable/functional version, when in fact it is

You guys keep forgetting that this is not a software developer company which is making profit of the product and can afford professional testing, we need people to use it in order to make sure it is stable

In conclusion the options are

1.8.2

- Several issues you will not get support with
- Stable state tag

1.8.3

- No unsolved reported issues at the moment, many improvements
- In case of an issue, the developers are gonna fix it in a matter of days
- Dev state tag
