Have just installed RC6 and have been looking at the files and it says it precaches the stats sounds from the misc directory.

But where do the stat sounds come from because there wasnt any in the zip file i downloaded.

Usally most people already have these sounds, I am sure someone will make a sounds pack and give it to the dev team or something to post as a misc download.

StatsMe has soundpack download from their website which contains all of the necessary sounds. Does this mean StatsMe actually owns the rights to those sounds?

If statsme owned the rights to those sounds then they would most likely be server side only instead of allowing clients to download them.
