Im currently trying to find the best specs for hosting a cs1.6 server can someone help me in choosing them? I want a host that hits the spot just nice. Not too over used or under used specifications

first of all you should take into account the following

1. location Machine/VPS: preferably the closest to your country, for better latency, otherwise the game will be affected by the lag
2. internet speed hosting: I think you have no problem with that but it is still important to emphasize it.
3. memory: greater than or equal to 4gb
4. processor: dual core or higher
5. storage: 50~80gb

(3,4,5) "varies in terms of requirements" I mean what type of mode are you going to use, since for example the ZP are more demanding

I think the same as mlibre, but i contribute one recommendation: If you're going to make a big server and you want to make it playable for any player from any country (like 32 slots PUB or DM servers), then i suggest you some server hosting locations:

North America: Toronto, Canada, New York, United States or San Francisco, United States.
Europe: London, United Kingdom, Moscow, Russia or any place of Rumania.
South America: Sao Paulo, Brazil or Miami, United States.
