Nameless has told me that ability plugins don't work outside arena_ and vsh_ maps
Is that true

From my experience this is mostly wrong, as most subplugins don't check the prefix of the map. If there's some subplugin that won't work on certain maps(non-arena), then It probably does something unusual(changes map entities or map specific?). Make sure you use Stripper:Source and modify maps.cfg so that FF2 can function properly, You won't have problems with the subplugins.
If you, however, have stumbled upon problematic subplugin, report it here!

I Tried Beepman's Subplugins on a cp_ map or something like that it didn't work but it worked on cp_orange on this video
