Hey guys,

I discovered that my video card (Geforce 9500) is not good anymore, in terms of that it got old and it is now heating all the time and making me FPS Drops problems. I saw the GeForce GT 240 Graphic Card, and looked at reviews in the internet, still I don't know much about graphic cards so I dont know what to conclude after looking in the internet.

So I want to ask you something, how is GeForce GT 240 doing? Is it good? Is it not that good? is it kind of bad? How would it be if I didn't have enough money (aroud $100-$150), and I still wanted a good graphic card? Can you tell me more about it so I can make my final decision? I have to make my choice by toomorow, so posts ASAP will be great.

Thanks In Advance,
Diegork.

GT240 is plain shit.

If you want something in that price range you should look after AMD HD6790.

I know a GTS 450 that I can buy from some guy in a pretty cheap price, the thing is, it'll be only in 2 weeks, and I need a new video card cuz I cant test my works and/or play with friends. I can install just now the GT 240 but someone here told me its plain shit, I mean, is it really that bad? If for example i'll want in the future a new game that will be released, such as the upcoming new ASSASIN CREED, wont I be able to play that? Is it really such a crappy video card?

Help me make my decision up :S

In order to play most new games that are coming out, you will probably need something that is DX 11 compatible, which would mean more like GT 400 or higher for nVidia Cards.

Edit: If you install the gt 240 card it will run all the games you are probably playing now just fine. it is not a bad card, as in non-functioning, it just isnt top of the line.

joshknifer - are there any existing games that you know that cant run with the gt 240 card? If so, tell me few that you know. All I want from that answer is to know in what situation this card is, if in 1 month i'll realise that I bought a card that cant run shit (only counter-strike and few higher games), and that i have nothing much to do, then I am stuck with it till it gets ruined.

I had to upgrade to play Deus Ex Human Revolutions, even though my card was well above max suggested stats. It would not run smoothly with out a DX 11 card for some reason, that is the only example I have of a current game.
