Since compiled with a recent compiler, pev and base have changed and as result the offets for linux have changed too, offset start to 0 now under linux.

I'm not pro-linux, but you can guess that a more recent compile tool will result in better optimization or something.

I use windows xp. If you are asking why people don't keep up with the latest versions of windows, its because OS are expensive. Could it be that a lot of peoples incomes can't keep up with the speed of technology? its like every time you buy something, an other version is released not too long after. A lot of people don't have 100's of dollars for discretionary spending.

That was our issue so we went to Linux. So far every thing works nicely
