I am in the process of choosing parts for my CSGO servers that I'm putting into a data center. I have been told that CSGO requires CPUs with SSE. Is this true and proven? I am considering the following build. I am also planning to overclock it to 4.4ghz+ as well as a custom water cooling loop or CPU cooler. Is my motherboard suitable to prevent bottle necking? I want the best performing servers with no choke that can hold a lot of players. I want to dedicate 1 server per core. Is there anything I can do better to improve performance?

Intel Core i7 5960X 8 core CPU.
Phoenix x99 Motherboard
Corsair Dominator Platinum CMD32GX4M2B2800C14 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4
x2 500GB SSD
Custom water cooling loop or CPU cooler to suit.

Would I be able to fit this build into a 1RU chassis?

Other CPUs I was considering but do not have SSE so it's probably not possible?
Intel Core i7 6900K
Intel Core i7 6950X

Both of those certainly support up to SSE4.2, not sure why it is missing from Ark.

CS:GO requires at least SSE2 iirc, which will be available on pretty much any processor since 2003 (which is why it is not mentioned explicitly these days), The notable one that doesn't that people keep trying to run SRCDS on after finding one in the attic is the AMD Athlon XP.

You probably don't want consumer parts in a DC.

Thanks for the reply. The only issue is that on CPUboss is clearly shows that the 6950X and the 6900k don't have SSE4.2? Is this wrong?

Also the data center said consumer parts would be fine. I guess I would be risking less lifespan of the components by doing this?

I thought that as well when reviewing the i7 6950X and came upon that same link.
You can check, this link here to see that it does have it, but it's still odd ARK and CPUBoss both don't report it.
