I was wondering if anyone knew how to create a plugin which forces a name on a player steamid.

let's say we have a guy called bob. he's a pain in the ass.... To make sure that he keeps his name and everyone knows who he is. The plugin will ensure, that he cannot change his name in the server. If he does. The server will block him from changing the name. If not possible from blocking it. Maybe change it everytime. I know you may think this can cause lag to a server. But steam also has it's limits. And I also have anti-cheat to prevent mass name change, also with clans and so on.

Would you want this for multiple servers using MySQL or just for one server?

I been looking for this too since some time, there's people that change name to some symbols just to annoy others (and admins, since it gets harder for them to tag those players, and not all admins know about the !status and find the #number) , and i always thought of changing their name to something that gets stored on a database and also they can't change, so everytime they join the server, he'll same the same nickname (but more important, he won't be able to change it)

Hopefuly someone does it!

I don't know if you can force names to players like faceit does. player_changename event doesn't trigger anymore with the new namechangers cheats, maybe OnClientSettingsChanged triggers it, I didn't tested it.

Ilusion9 you can set playername on connect and hook name change to return the name to the value you want regardless of them changing their ingame name

It says error with steamid. And when attempting different things, it just changed my own name.??
