Does SMAC work with the new TF2 beta ?
I get a crash on player join. Just wondering if others have it working with the beta.
Thanks.

I haven't even been able to get Metamod:Source to load-up on current (March 2013) TF2 beta - much less SourceMod.

"meta list" = "no plugins loaded"

Weasel check this thread- http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=209001
I just installed a new Tf2 Beta install today with the latest Dev Snapshots of both MM and SM on a windows server today, and got both to work. I had to do the metaplugins.ini thing to load SM, but MM loaded with no issue. The MM VDF doesn't work yet as I understand it. Read that thread, that's what got me going in the right direction. Anyway, I'm now in the process of trying to get stuff working like SMAC.
Hence my post here.

I see the issue about MM:S not being able to load-up SM using the .VDF; and instead having to use the metaplugins.ini file.
But what about MM:S itself not loading?
Do we need to go old-school gameinfo.txt on it for now?

Update: Got it at least loading (seg faults, etc. not necessarily SMAC-related).
1) Get install versions from snapshots (for MM:S and SM), and in theory latest SMAC.
2) Old-school-load MM:S into gameinfo.txt, ala this wiki page;
3) Old-school-load SM into metaplugins.ini , ala this thread.
Update-2: Sadly, had to remove SMAC (along with lot of other plugins - but nothing "stock"). At least basic SM is working under the beta.

I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with SMAC and in general is it something with MM or SM. If I do only the base MM and SM install it will load and I can only do certain sm_admin commands. Some don't work at all or it will crash the server since the 3/6/12 update. Prior to that, I had a ton of plugins working.

If I start using some plugins, it will crash the server as soon as I have any bots join. I've been waiting and hoping there were changes to MM or SM snapshots that would address that issue but it doesn't appear to so far. So I'm only running base SM install now so I can do some muting and kicking of people easily until this gets fixed.

Edit: Confirmed by psychonic that gamedata needs to be updated for the newest TF2 Beta. Nothing to see here.

CuriousG your very likely correct, I suspected it was minor issues with MM/SM. I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't just me, and others were having issues as well. I'm sure as release time gets here the MM/SM guys will be sorting it all out. Thanks for the reply.

Why you probably thought SMAC was the likely cause is probably due to:

1. You run SMAC only with SM
2. You run SMAC with autodemo with bots
3. Try to troubleshoot like I did and had only bare minimum plugins (like SMAC)

Like I said, it is due to gamedata. I have everything working again. Most values have shifted +1

Not much to do then, except wait for the up-coming changes to move from beta to release, and then be able to troubleshoot/identify and hopefully fix what "really" get's released.

Ever since moving to the new TF2 Beta (SteamPipe), SMAC hasn't logged anything (no SMAC.log). Is there a command I can type from client end to make sure SMAC is still working even if it is a false positive?

I used to get connection spam, taunt spam

Type speed.toggle into your console.
