Is Java any good? I'm slowly getting into it but just wondering if I should give up on it for C#? Some say Java is better than C# in the development of web applications, and it's not that hard to learn. Any opinions from experienced Java developers?

It depends. Java can run almost on all devices without any additional efforts, and is used as platform for games, apps et cetera. Meanwhile C# is used only in webs and applications, that run in Windows. Sure there is a framework called "Mono" but that is only for Linux (I'm not sure if it operates in Mac).

Seems like I won't regret my choice.

This is extremely outdated knowledge.

https://dotnet.microsoft.com/

They're both good choices, but they're similar enough that it doesn't really matter in the long run.

I actually thought VB was the best out of them all, just to learn that it's "beginner's language", Java seems fun.
