As simple as you read at the title...
How to detect when a player cancel the say or any messagemode pressing ESC without sending it?

I don't think AMXX allows to spy that much.

You can't. The server detects only incoming commands.

set timer task? if he didnt put anything in 5.0sec then he probably pressed ESC

So, you said the cancel button it's only handled by the client... Is it impossible the server to hook it?

That's a really bad idea.
Can pass the 5 seconds and client it's with the command opened yet.

Check whether he passed arguments or not on command execution forward.

Generally it would not be possible.
But you probably can achieve that using Orpheu.

Using Orpheu for catching something that cannot be hooked server-side?

Client is not telling the server that he canceled an input provided by messagemode. There is no reason for server to know that because it's a client-side only feature.
