Hey...well, I just finished making my sweet new server! It's just a dedicated server I made, and then installed amxmodx and superhero. I have 60 levels and all, and a whole BUNCH of custom heros. But anyways, I got it up and running, and I was playin on it for a bit, and I asked a friend (on Steam) to come join. He said that my server was Not Responding...although I was on the server myself! He also said that when he added the server to his favorites (through the Add Ip) the server didn't come up. Nothing happened...
Please, does anyone know what the hell is going on?! I really don't want to play by myself this whole time!!! >.<
p.s.- When I'm not in the server, it shows the ping being around 10-15, but when I join I get a bunch of random lag spikes, where it goes up to over 2000!! What's up with that?!?!

anywayz

1. he cant join if u gave him an ip like dis "192.168..." dats ur router
http://server.counter-strike.net/yourip.shtml <-- check ur ip
2. firewall is blocking it!!! turn it off or configure it so dat i wont block it
3. ur server is running on LAN? change it 2 Internet? (WAN)
4. if those dont work, seach?

EDIT: o ya bout ur lag spikes, ur playing counter strike on da same computer ur dedicated server is on, ur CPU usage will prolly be jumping from 70%-100% rofl rofl rofl

yet if u just play a normal game of counter strike without da dedicated server it will run from 10%-20% (well it does 4 me)

same goes with da dedicated server, it will be low cpu usage.

and if u lag ALOT, it shows dat ur computer has low RAM or ghz or ur internet is slow

if ur still determined 2 run a server nd play in there with da same computer i would suggest getting HLDS Booster (also if u dun wanna download dis u can always go2 ur task manages -ctrl+alt+delete- thing and change da hlds.exe priority from normal 2 high- hlds booster is prolly bettuh, ur comp stability nd all dat shyt is ganna get fucked if u do dat ), a RAM cleaner of sum sort (ive tried 1 b4, it clears ur ram every time it goes over da limit or u can clear da ram every 5 minutes or sumthin) also keep ur computer optimized, u could try overclocking also but i wouldnt recommend it, also defragment ur computer once in a while, nd if u plan 2 have ur computer running 24/7 for da server u should get liquid cooling, so ur computer wont blow up ur house while ur at school

Ok....welll...yah, the ip was like that, so I guess that's my router. But that link u have...WTF?! I seriously don't understand any of that...could u maybe just tell me how to find my ip...cause that doesnt make an ounce of sense to me....

OK, I guess that helps..but so now I have my ip. Is that the ip I tell my friends for my server (plus the :27015 at the end..right?)? Because I just did that, and my friend said that my server didn't come up!! so WTF now?!?!?!?!
p.s.- Why doesn't my server show up on the Internet Server listings?

Ok guys, I actually got it. I was playin some CS...and this guy was like "go to portforward.com", and I did, and it helped me SO much. So I think its working....
p.s.- where can I dl HLDS???

use port 27016 if you're running it on ur own computer, 27015 isn't as good for it
