Is there any way to stop unusual effects from being transmitted to players, I'm trying to make a toggle to turn them on or off so clients can toggle them.

I'm not even sure what i should hook so I could stop transmitting them.
Maybe I could just teleport them somewhere far away, or maybe scale them to nothing?
Any ideas?

Pretty sure they are all client sided the server doesn't even know what particle effect is on the hat.

Make it so clients can disable unusual effects.

Which effects? What causes them? Have you tried temp ent hook? Hook the tempents, intercept it and copy it to people who don't want. Check stocks of tempents like TE_SetupBeamRing for reference

I'm pretty sure these effects are done client side as they're based on item attributes sent to clients by the item server.
