P.S 'trojan.exe' is an folder.

Never had this before.. Just L0L

Avast didn't tell me that, so I am pretty sure that it is legit. Also, why are you using such folder names? It shouldn't confuse it, but it is still kinda weird.

With this simbol "^" you cannot access via cmd.exe
Much trojans is copied to %windir%\%sysroot%, using ^ the trojan will never copy to that root.
Also I like this simbols/names for folders

Working with limited privileges and setting UAC to 'always notify' makes a lot more sense.

UAC was introduced in windows vista. XP does not have it.

As for traveling through directories with ^, you can use quotes. Or use TAB to autocomplete paths.
