to be able to distinguish between plugins compiled for amxmod and amxmodx could we use .amxx as the default ending for amxmodx? It would help admins to see which pre compiled file they need to use and make packaging of plugins easier if there aren't multiple .amx files in it.

In one fell swoop we could distinguish plugins compiled for AMXX from plugins compiled for AMX and AdminMod, an ambiguity that has confused many a noob.

This is a good idea, but the small compiler will need to be remodified to compile with a default .amxx ending - quickly, before too many people download this version of AMX Mod X and confusion spreads (and it will).

That might be a very good idea, there will be problems very soon because people will be confused.

Its bound to create problems with 4 letters in the end ( yes i know, most os support this. Last one that did not support it was proberbly 95/DOS )

Once AMXmodX has 1 or 2 more releases, i would be willing bet that 99% of amx users are gonna change over (unless magicly Olo comes back ).
