I noticed the other night that all my TF2 servers had gone down. I restarted them, and for some reason the ./srcds_linux binary was missing. WTF?

So I am attempting currently to run the ./steam -command update -game tf -dir . command, and I keep getting an error:

Code:
 1:26 Checking/Installing 'Team Fortress 2 Content' version 323

  1:27 [4.28.130.22:27030] Reusing connection
  1:27 [4.28.130.22:27030] Sending login message...
  1:27 [4.28.130.22:27030] Disconnecting
Failed to set file attributes
Why did this binary disappear, and why won't my server re-download it?

(The same thing happened with my gmod server, but it updated just fine and is currently running.)

Add -verify_all to the command.

If this doesn't work, you may need to delete InstallRecord.blob and re-run the updater.

I tried verify_all, which didn't work, and ended up just sudoing as root which some how did work.

It seems the only thing I can still do is run the update as root. The permissions are set to 775 for my user, so I have no idea why that would be the case.
