I've tried BuyVM, and it was ok but I've switched all my servers to dedi's and couldn't be happier. BuyVM's servers were located in Los Angeles but many of my players in California had bad routing and complained.

My suggestion is to get a single dedi with 8 cores (4 physical), and just set up 7 or so servers. For $72/m you can get a E3-1270 from eoreality which is what I mainly use, note they don't have amazing ddos protection from what I could tell.

So if you run 7 servers and the dedi costs $72/m, it would be about $10.2/m per server. There is however a one time $60 setup fee.

You could also get a dedi from anywhere else with a decent CPU. But this is the cheapest I could find while having GREAT performance compared to any VPS.

TLDR: Scale up to dedi will cost you less per server per month and gives you room to expand.

I've had horrible experience with NFO, they couldn't protect me against most DDoS attacks so I now self host on my own hardware in a datacenter.

Where were your servers located with NFO? Some locations aren't well suited for major ddos protection.

I host with them in Chicago and their ddos mitigation has been wonderful.
