I'm trying to get the game to recongise more than 6 maps, I've tried Mapchooser, Mapchooser extended and they both only show 6 maps, even without and just leaving it to do the maps naturally still only does 6.
Is this a limit which can't be changed?

because sourcemod can display only 6 items on one page.
7 is for previous page
8 for next page
9 for exit menu

you can set more than 6 maps in mapchooser, but there will be 2 pages with them.

I've tried, it only shows a max of 6 and no option to go to next page

You need to use your csgo\maplist.cfg or whatever you have set in the csgo\addons\sourcemod\configs\maplists.cfg

I've done that but they only give a max of 6, both Mapchooser and Mapchooser Extended..

Like Maxximou5 said there is a limit set by default for Mapchooser but I thought even without the plugin you are having the same problem?

Yes, I've been trying to have it included in votes but even without them and just using the default mapcycle/list it goes through the first 6 then reverts to the default map
