I'm requesting a fix for this.

It looks like a Steamworks issue so I think this extension is exactly what can fix it.

Suggestions?

Extensions load way too late to change the registered App ID.

Surely we can do some patching? Just need to hook appid check and substitute correct code.

The check is on the Steam backend.

Does this mean the only way to fix this is to use nosteam?

EDIT: Actually, using nosteam will defeat the purpose because that would require copying gcf's.

Just create a steam_appid.txt file, which is the correct method.

You can also set the SteamAppId envvar, which is normally set by Steam when launching a game, the steam_api loader then uses this to write the steam_appid file.

Ok, looks like it works except I now have to create a separate batch file for every game. Damn.
