I wouldn't contest or do anything about it, kigen is ancient history anyway, his project and sites are as dead as can be. SMAC is easy to find on google and I host it on my website which i pm links to every person I see looking for it. I host it on my own network so he could cry to google or anyone he wants about it and there is nothing anyone could do about it.

Not true. If he files a complaint with your ISP, they must either shut you off the internet or make you stop distributing the file. I don't really know why he started this shitstorm anyways, it's not like the devs weren't going to give him credit. They just didn't have the time to do it on his schedule, which, unless they work for him, is not how the world works. They said they would give him credit, but he had the bugtracker destroyed, the repo taken down, the whole nine yards.

It's Smac devs who started the shitstorm, its not like they forgot to add copyright notices from kigen's code, they removed it on purpose and when Kigen asked (here on forums) to put them back he was banned.

Oh good, so it's OK for us to link to the DMCA notice? I think most of us though that would be forbidden as well which is why we'd tell people to use Google and look for the DMCA notice link there.
