Good configurations for a root server

Hello,
I used to host game server on a vServer. Now I have a root server with 2G RAM and an Intel Atom dualcore.

What cfg and what commandline is useful for both srcds and hlds?
I know about the -pingboost option but it doesn't make any difference for me. Also there are some other options such as tickrate/maxfps etc.

What are you using as cfg/commandline for best performance?

tickrate is standart 66 and fps_max does not exist anymore, framerate is now based on the tickrate.

I guess no one can tell you what configs are best because it depends on various factors such as:

- max player slots
- cpu
- how many servers
- wich mods
etc.

the only way to answer your question would be by try and error.
Im not some professional but this is the way I have learned it.

Ok, so it is tickrate for source, but for 1.6 it is fps_max. There is still the thinng with pingboost. It doesn't take any impact on my ping.
Except for tickrate and pingboost, are there any other fiddelings I have to make to make the servers run?
