Can anyone please help me........

ok so in my server when u pass the certain amount of kills u need to level up to the next gun....... for me when u pass the certain amount of kills needed, you have to wait until you die and respawn, then you recieve the next level gun.

I was wondering howcome it doesn't level up as soon as you reach the next level in the round
