Based on the quality problems and bugs in Steam and CS 1.6 releases I don't want to know what "very basic QA" means, do I?? (Isn't it at least two times that they had to backout releases due to serious crashes and denial of execution problems??)

No. It just means mod writers can put their mods into steam now.

i was thinking about the same, but then they would rather request for sources to make compatible versions, and now they just ask for contact for easier release of mods, (they will rpovide server space, steam system distribution and simple questions/answers stystem)
