I've searched through the forums and found a lot of plugins that can restrict sniper weapons allowed per team.

My question is though: does any plugin allow restricting weapons so that only one sniper is allowed per team - despite the type of the rifle? I mean, if a player buys a Scout, then that's it, no more snipers are allowed in his team. Picking up a sniper rifle from a dead player would be ok, since there would be at most 2 sniper rifles in the game anyway.

Beetlesmod claims that it works this way, however it's restriction methods are buggy and unreliable. Other restriction plugins do not allow anything like this.

I've had that on my to-do list for a long time but there is not enough interest to continue development. You might be able to do this using EventScripts with ES Tools weapon restrictions.
