Hello,

Has anyone managed to install HLstatsx on a Windows 2003 server using IIS 6.0 instead of Apache?

I am using Amxmodx and metamod on a HL1 DM goldscr server.

I'm trying to find a guide on how to install this, but am struggling, can someone help? I see I need to download PHP, MySQL too.

I would say, that you should try XAMPP. It's not the safest, but easier (I think)

I said it's not the safest, not that it's insecure. Also that is only the webpage for change the passwords, that doesn't say if it's safe or not

xampp is easy and best=)
does any have problem install mysql and php use it,
it install everything direct.

Apache is easy to install on windows, just go here: apachelounge.com
Also has a nice tutorial on installing php on windows.

1 Norton is shit as a AV
2 A anti virus will do NOTHING vs a web attack
3 Norton's firewall will do NOTHING vs a web attack (hell a firewall in general will not help unless it is a application level firewall, but that is a whole different topic)
4 Security = Layers not just 1 thing
5 XAMPP comes with alot of extra web apps loaded that are common targets for attacks, so who in there right mind would run the extra apps when they don't need them.

PS. Before you even think about replying so far from what I have seen you say you know so little about network security and server defense it is not even funny.

sure, but norton is good when i started with webhost,
my server computer did get hacked and now i use norton my computer have block all hackers and i get all the ip to,
and more

so u need to have computer safe.

for firewall protect i use my router.

that is what i can say for my defense

and can easy say it not fun when people hack computer and u can't use it:/

first time my computer did get hacked a friend did watch it when someone else use it,
he just laughed
was little fun until the hacker did delete my computer hard drive.

....all I am going to say is anti virus software is only good for the mass deployed crap, targeted malware can go undetected with ease.

As for using your "router" as a firewall....please go read what a router does.....if you are saying you are using a gateway with a firewall that is different. The most you could do with a router is a basic ACL


And just because I hate it when people use the term hacker wrong the person who infected your system was most likely a script kiddie you can read the difference here
