I have this Error to.It is to many cvars in your config.cfg or userconfig.cfg.
Try to take the standart conf and try again :-)

I think I tried something like "cvarlist" in client console, and something just broke.

Thats caused by 2 cvars:

r_rainradius 3000
r_rainsplashpercentage 100


Alot of Tut's on making the game look better, say to use those settings in there config, don't. Thats why your getting the error, take them out.
