My over all question is how do you run a vs or scavenge server with more the 8 players and not have it spawn the extra bots till some one joins?

My friend and I have a linux server that I have been trying to set up to have more the 4 for coop and 8 for vs and scavenge which I have working just need to tune in vs and scavenge. Im using Game Mode Config Loader 1.6 to load/unload plugs and change cvars. I got coop running just the way I want, I can have up to 6 people and the server does not spawn bots till someone joins. Now when I run vs and scavenge with SuperVersus or LEFT12DEAD and set it to have 12 players 6 survivors and 6 infected. When we join our server there is already 2 extra bots spawned yet we only have 4 human players till more people join if at all. What I would like is to only have 4 survivor spawned till more human players join then have the bot spawned like it does in coop with bebop plugin.

Here are the plugins Im using for vs and scavenge
l4dtoolz
SuperVersus or LEFT12DEAD

Here are the setting I use when using l4dtoolz and SuperVersus
sm plugins load l4d_superversus
sm plugins unload bebop
sm plugins unload l4d2_scavenge_tank
sv_maxplayers "12"

and No Im not running SuperVersus and LEFT12DEAD at the same time I just tried them both but they both seem to spawn the extra bots at the begging.

So any help with this would be great.

All you have to do is get the sp and search for the left4dead
failstate, then change that to left4dead2. Then you search for any instances of this value: 8.0. Change that to whatever value you want, 10.0 12.0, etc. Recompile, and stick it in your
server running left4toolz. Don't use the translation file, it's not needed. I have never had any instances of extra bots spawning
with this setup.

tnx to the maker of this plugin, works perfectly with no hard installation, now i can finish campaigns on expert, and other achievements. hehe

This plugin is great.
Unfortunately, sometimes it crashes my coop server during gameplay when more than 8 players are in the game.
Going back to bebop and no more crashes.

Is this only for versus or will it work on coo also. I don't think the one we were running is working any more. Thanks

Of all the survivor bot addition plugins, this one is the most simple and easiest one to use since it requires no external plugins, and it has very simple commands. Just move it into the plugin section, add the new sm_cvar commands to your source mod plugin config, and play straight away.

However, it brings a lot of problems as well. Sometimes, the number of bots spawned is incorrect; in many situations, there are more bots than usual. Sometimes this is off the desired valued by up to 2 more (mostly 1 if it gets an error).

Secondly, it causes respawn issues for human players already connected to the server, including the host himself. Sometimes, a player who goes AFK for too long will suddenly get relegated to the spectators list and get stuck there permanently until he reconnects or restarts the server (the latter for the host). This occurs very frequently, and it is the main reason why I have stopped using the plugin.

If these two problems can be fixed, it will be a perfect plugin, ripe for approval.

I get the problem with spawning too many survivors as well, its a pain in the ass, but I don't know what to do about it. The other bug, where you can't return from spectator, you can avoid with this plugin http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?p=1130434

Do i need score team manager? to get the bots to spawn i keep getting bugs with that plugin so it would be great to delete it
